When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A. ParkerMy rating: 100000000 of 5 stars
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
I don’t even know where to start with this one because it was that good. This book is a literal masterpiece, and I’m not just saying that lightly. If this isn’t already on your TBR, drop everything and add it right now. I swear, you’ll thank me later. The hype is so real here, and trust me, it absolutely lives up to it—and then some.
From the very first page, I was completely captivated by the world-building. I’m talking full-on, expansive, deeply intricate world-building that’ll have you feeling like you’ve been transported into another universe. Sure, it’s a lot to take in at first, but once you get into the rhythm of it, you’ll fall head over heels for this world. The way Parker weaves the story and lays out the history and the magic is just...chef’s kiss.
Now, let’s talk about the characters—because they’re the true heart of this story. The FMC is a total powerhouse. She’s tough, smart, and complex, and I couldn’t help but root for her every step of the way. But then, there’s Kaan. I mean, can we please talk about how perfect their enemies-to-lovers dynamic is? It’s everything. It’s painful, beautiful, and so emotionally charged, and I can’t get enough of their journey together. Their relationship is a rollercoaster of emotions—heartbreaking, bittersweet, but also so rewarding. And I haven’t even mentioned how incredibly well-written their interactions are. Every single scene with them made me feel like I was living the story, not just reading it.
I genuinely feel like I’ve been changed by this book. It was THAT good. And to top it off, the ending? Well, it left me absolutely gasping for more. I’m literally dying for the next book, and I’ll probably be counting the days until it drops. If you’re looking for a story with high stakes, slow-burn tension, and characters that will steal your heart, When the Moon Hatched is a MUST-READ.
Favorite quote from this book was:
- “Chase death, Moonbeam. And I pray your bloodlust brings you the same sense of peace I feel just knowing you exist.”
This quote? I need to frame it and put it on my wall, because it perfectly encapsulates the vibe of this book. It’s hauntingly beautiful and deeply emotional. I’ll be thinking about this one for a long, long time.
