⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
Okay, I am beyond speechless right now. This book is perfection in every sense of the word. I’ve never read anything so utterly beautiful, so emotionally intense, that it just left me completely dumbfounded. The relationship between Mische and Asar? Wow. It’s this devastatingly beautiful progression through each layer of the underworld, and you feel every ounce of pain, longing, and growth between them. The pacing? Absolute perfection. The writing? Expert-level craft. As a reader, I feel so honored to have experienced this story.
Mische and Asar’s emotional struggles are so relatable, so real, that I honestly felt like my heart was being twisted the entire time. Every page was a mix of agony and beauty, and I was just all in. This book has easily become my favorite read of the year—hands down, no competition. If you’ve read the other books in the series and are even remotely considering picking this one up, DO IT. I’m telling you, this book will change you. It’ll grip you in ways you didn’t think a story could, and leave you craving more even after the cliffhanger at the end. Yes, there’s a cliffhanger, and trust me, it’s painful. But I’m counting down the days until the next book because Mische and Asar’s journey is far from over, and I need to know what happens next.
Carissa Broadbent, thank you for giving us such a masterpiece. It was an absolute privilege to experience this story, and I am beyond excited to see where you take these characters next.
Favorite quotes from this book (because I’m still thinking about them):
- “And as we sat there in the field at the precipice of death, I kissed him, long and gentle and full of the truth I couldn’t say. I didn’t even care if the sun was watching."
And then this one? Heartbreaking:
- “This isn’t what love should feel like.”
“Show me what it should feel like,” I whispered."
If you haven’t picked up this book yet, you’re seriously missing out. Get on it.
