My rating: 3 of 5 stars
⭐️⭐️⭐️
So, here’s the thing with Nocticadia—I actually really enjoyed this book for the most part. The vibe was solid, the characters were interesting, and I was fully invested in the plot… up until the ending. Honestly, the ending was a mess. It felt rushed, forced, and just left me with a bad taste in my mouth. If it weren’t for how the author wrapped things up, I would’ve easily given this a solid 4.5 or even 5 stars. It’s so disappointing because everything leading up to the end was so engaging.
But that ending? Yeah, it took the wind right out of my sails. It really overshadowed the whole book for me, and because of that, I can’t fully recommend it. I’m just not willing to let that bad ending slide, especially when it came so out of left field and felt like it was just thrown together.
That being said, there were still some standout moments and quotes in this book that I really loved, so I can’t totally write it off. I’ll leave you with my favorite quote, which is a perfect example of the intense and addictive chemistry between the characters:
- “I both hated and craved the addicting way he’d hooked himself into my veins and fed me with this unbridled and reckless desire. It went against everything I was. Everything I believed. And yet, it was everything."
If you’re not as picky about endings as I am, maybe give it a go. But if you’re someone who needs that satisfying conclusion, I’d say skip it.
