Review: Phantasma

Phantasma Phantasma by Kaylie Smith
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Alright, so here’s the deal with Phantasma—I really, really liked it. I had a good time reading it, no doubt. But, and this is just my personal opinion, I couldn’t give it a perfect 5 because a lot of the spicy scenes felt... unnecessary? Like, they didn’t really add much to the plot or character development, and I feel like the book would’ve been just as good without them. But hey, that’s just me. Some readers might not mind them, but I’m all about that plot-driven storytelling, you know?

The plot twist at the end? Definitely saw it coming, but it was executed so well. I was still invested even though I guessed what was happening. The way everything came together was satisfying, and the pacing overall kept me turning pages. There’s a lot to love about this book, even with a couple of hiccups. I’d still recommend it, especially if you’re looking for something that balances a bit of mystery, romance, and the supernatural.

And I’ve gotta share my favorite quote from this book, because it’s just everything:

- “I love you so much. You saved me. So many times, in so many ways, and it barely took you a week to change me so intrinsically. I may never be rid of my inner demons, but for this single sliver of time, whenever we were together, you made them quiet. I was able to hear myself for once. And I want you to know that I will gladly take on whatever this place is going to curse me with knowing you will finally get out of the Hell you’ve been trapped in for so long.”

If you’re into stories with twists, emotional depth, and a good romance, you’ll probably enjoy this one. It’s definitely worth the read!
