Quicksilver by Callie HartMy rating: 100000000 of 5 stars
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
Okay, let me start off by saying that the only criticism I have is that I didn’t wait until the series was completed (or at least until the next book was out) because now I’m literally dying for more. Like, I’m physically in pain waiting for the next installment. I’m not usually one to jump on the hype train, but I can confidently say the hype surrounding this book? It absolutely deserved every ounce of it.
This book really exceeded my expectations in so many ways. One of the things I loved most was how all the little details, the subtle touches scattered throughout the book, ended up coming together so beautifully by the end. It was like all these small pieces clicked into place, and I was left in awe. The pacing? Chef’s kiss. It was slow, yes, but in the best way possible. The slow burn between Fisher and Saeris was done so well, and it wasn’t just your typical “will they won’t they” situation. Their bond felt real, and I was completely invested in watching it unfold. It wasn’t rushed, and I honestly appreciated that.
The chemistry between them is undeniable, and the way Hart built that tension and relationship kept me hooked from start to finish. It felt unique, which is something I really value in a series—nothing about this felt like something I’d already read a hundred times. I’m already so emotionally invested, and I can’t wait to see where this goes.
Here’s my advice: if you’re someone who loves getting lost in a series and having that itch to keep reading, do not start this book until more of the series is out. Trust me. It’s that addicting, and the cliffhanger at the end will leave you wanting more and more (and more). So, while I highly recommend this book, I also recommend you wait until the next installment drops so you can binge it all.
Favorite quote? This one hit hard:
- “Make me forget that I’ve suffered,” I commanded. “Make me forget that I will again."
If you're into slow-burn romances, gripping plot twists, and character dynamics that leave you wanting more, Quicksilver is definitely worth picking up. Just be warned—once you start, you’re going to be hooked, and you’ll be waiting (impatiently) for the next book.
